
Charles E. Baldwin, MD
Dr.
Baldwin received his undergraduate degree from
Wheaton College in 1969. He then spent a year
studying biochemistry at the University of Illinois
Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. In 1974,
Dr. Baldwin graduated with his four year medical
degree from the Abraham Lincoln School of Medicine
in Chicago, Illinois.
At that time, Dr. Baldwin decided that he wanted to
dedicate his medical practice to helping children.
In 1974, he entered the General Surgery Program at
the University of Alabama in Birmingham. In
1979, Dr. Baldwin moved to Kansas City, Missouri to
complete his Pediatric Surgery training at the
Children's Mercy Hospital. Dr. Baldwin
additionally ran the Burn Unit at Children's Mercy
Hospital and gained special interest and training in Pediatric Urology.
From 1981 to 2006, Dr. Baldwin was a Clinical
Assistant Professor of Pediatric Surgery at the
University of Alabama in Birmingham. At the
time he operated and instructed at the Children's
Hospital of Alabama. Additionally, he
maintained an active private practice as a Board
Certified Pediatric Surgeon. Dr. Baldwin is a
Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics
for the Surgical Section and the Critical Care
Section. Dr. Baldwin is also a Fellow in the
American College of Surgeons. Dr. Baldwin's
professional memberships include The American
Pediatric Surgical Association; American Medical
Association; the San Antonio Pediatric Society and
the Texas Medical Association.
In May 2006, Dr. Baldwin and his family moved to San
Antonio. Dr. Baldwin relocated his practice to
the Atrium at North Central Baptist Hospital.
Currently, his professional activities include:
the Director of Pediatric Surgery at North Central
Baptist Hospital, the Chairman of Pediatric
Sub-Specialty Committee at North Central Baptist
Hospital and the Vice-Chairman Elect to the
Department of Pediatrics at North Central Baptist
Hospital.
Dr. Baldwin and his wife reside in Boerne with their
two daughters. He also has three adult children
and three beautiful grand-daughters. His
interests outside of pediatric surgery include time
with family, church activities, horseback riding,
reading and outdoor activities.
Charlene Ewing -
Office Manager
Charlene Ewing is Dr. Baldwin’s Office Manager. She
enjoys working with children and their
families. Charlene has worked in the medical field
since 1981. Her background includes surgery
scheduling, billing and collections. Prior to
working for Dr. Baldwin, Charlene worked in the
Methodist Health System for seventeen years.
Charlene began working for Dr. Baldwin in April of
2009. She manages the front office and can assist
you with all of your scheduling, insurance and
billing inquires.
Charlene is happily married and has two daughters, one grand-daughter
and a grandson. Charlene and her husband,
Wally, were wed on 5/5/05 at 5:55pm!! In her time
away from the office, she enjoys spending time with
her family, camping, fishing, backyard BBQs and is
active in her church.
Nurse Skye
Skye
Baldwin graduated from Wallace State College in 1996
with her Associate’s Degree in Nursing. She was the
secretary of her Nursing class. In 1998, Skye
graduated from The University of Alabama in
Huntsville with her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and
was awarded a member of Sigma Theta Tau, The
National Nurse’s Honor Society. In 2000 she
obtained her Master’s Degree, Family Nurse
Practitioner, from the University of Alabama in
Huntsville. Skye has worked in Women’s Health,
Labor and Delivery, Nursery, NICU and Pediatrics.
Skye has worked with Dr. Baldwin, at The Children’s
Hospital of Alabama since 2000. She has been his
Office Nurse since 2008.
Skye
is happily married with two daughters. Skye lives in
Boerne and is active in her church. In her time
away from the office, she enjoys horse-back riding,
painting, cooking, reading, traveling and spending
time with her family.
